KISS race at 3 pm. Entered as an A. Why? I think my results got mixed up when I did the 2 km race series sat morning. Naturally, my 3 minute pace is over 4 w/kg. That doesn't make me an A. My ftp is still below 4.0. But, if I enter as a B, I risk getting thrown in the can. (See the rider acchan who entered as a B and rode at 4.7. Thus, not credited as 3rd place.
I was actually the fastest b rider. But, I was given credit as 4th place in A cat. Cassie B was a buzzsaw. I stayed with the top 3 riders for a lap then let go because there were still 2 more laps. I could have held on until the reverse climb. But, I saved some energy. A rider went right by me but could only get about 7 seconds ahead.I just kept my pace and stayed back until the last climb. I caught her by the top of the climb and opened up a good gap under the kom banner. At the bottom, I put in a dig for the line, a long way out. I kept burning matches until the finish line. Couldn't see anyone behind me. She finished 10 seconds behind, so she didn't do too bad.
So far, in the results column on ZP...
9-2 4th place
9-13 6th place
9-14 9th place (nearly sick and tired, a foolish entry but too late to back out)
9-21 4th place.
so much harder with all of these tough riders entering the schedule.
My journey with Zwift has inspired me toward better health and fitness. Workouts and races are so addicting. Here's a blog on what I'm doing.

Academy Race #5 10th place
I could only race the first lap. Was suppose to be Hilly course but they changed it to Flat Reverse? Didn't really suit me. I was too tired from yesterday's race and I am still recovering from being sick last week. On the bright side, lol, I sprinted the finish of the first lap for fun before letting them go. (and the second group) Stayed with 3 girls till finish and did an acceptable sprint to finish up 3 seconds.
The results were confusing and the screen never showed up. Their was 2 dq's. One for 5.3 w/kg and one for first a but Z power (demoted in KISS races). Finish stats show J. Abbott at 4.2 w/kg, the A winner but at bottom because maybe she put B in her name.
either way, I still came in 10th place.
So, live results show:
Final results show
Either way, I'm taking 10th place, I guess.

Race # 4 of Zwift Academy (My second of series)
Took 7th place.
Jumped hard to catch men's group. But they were actually too slow and I had to resprint to catch what became a group of nine on lap one. We dropped a few and cut it down to 5 after the first lap sprint banner. I kept up for the second lap but started to suffer with these gals.
I let them go and did two more laps with two others.
I did the last 2 laps by myself because I was hurting too bad to keep up with the 5th and 6th place finishers. Just a bit weak from being sick and off the bike.
I knew the flat course with no power-ups would be tough. but, I did good enough. Doing 2 more races this week to reshape. Watopia Hilly and Volcano.

ODZ Race#1 4th but update to 3rd (10-13 update)
Hey, fourth place in a 5 lap volcano crit. Things went well. I had just a tiny struggle after the climb on finishing lap 4 and found myself in a group that split, 2 who attacked at the start of the fourth lap then 12 others. Nobody chased and I put in a dig just to get back on. I guess the second group had uped their pace a bit but ultimately they let Calla (another Z? How confusing) and Hiroden go. We stayed together. I think 5 got ahead of me on the last climb and with such a big group, I rested 200 meters or so before sprinting, passing 2 and then three of us hit the line virtually together.
My numbers and lap speed were pretty good...257, 247, 240, 231, 261. My climbs 323, 328, 336, 316, 325. Happy with results. Calla's last minute was 9 w/kg and 10 w/kg for 30 seconds. Is she pro or what? So, I'm sure she'll qualify for top 10 for today. But I'm fourth.
Update... Z.C. flagged at 10 w/kg for a minute, over the world record level. I think Zwift monitors the time at 8 w/kg. . That is great for guys but nar impossible for us except maybe Vogel.
I went out for workout #8 right after. it's fun, but I've got some work to do. Not sure how they score it.

Training Plan and Analysis Updated
Here's a graph to show my abilities (lol, I knew it wouldn't be long endurance)
I have done some power tests of 5 second, 20 second, 30 second and 3 minute test.
I still have to do a 20 minute test...and the dreaded 60 minutes.
Here's the graph:
I hope to up the one minute soon. (I got it from 7.0 to 7.2 @ 487. Died around 55 seconds or so.)

Toughest Workouts Zwift Academy Threshold Pulling 6 X 4
Well, pushed a little too hard on #4, tried to recover on 5 and really hurt on 6. so, I rode a little, then started to quit, then did a minute effort and still finished segment at 246 (within 255 range) So, basically a fail. But, great if i was pushing hard in a race - would leave you in the dust. (Ha) :)
Pushing too hard helps me learn my limits. I could do 6 at 255.
Intervals set at 255
258 (low gear)
263 (big gear for the rest)
268
275
255
246 (with 386 one minute effort)
avg around 264 (261 with all 6)
54 X 17 a bit big and 54 X 19 too small.
52 x 17 would be about right (or 54 x 18)
avg interval 3.88 w/kg range 3.75 - 4.04 (not too shabby)

EVR Race Watopia Figure 8
35th place. B-cat 16th place, which isn't too bad as I haven't done a long race or a popular race in a long time, esp. with the power meter instead of z power. But, learning what I can do with real power (estimated power was a lot easier, but I have to learn all new numbers now)
I burned at the start, first minute at 353 watts and 300 for five minutes. Really good.
Stayed with leaders until Reverse Hill, where i was out of breath, tried to recover a bit and rode with a B group until the sprint reverse. Then I died, got passed and only kept ahead of a few B's to the finish. Once I got to the Short Hill I pretty much kept my place, ahead of two others. Did a sprint for good measure.
Not bad at 3.5 w/kg for the first 20 min ftp ride. (253 if you subtract the downhill rest for 30 seconds)
I doubt for ZWA I would have to ride at 400 watts the first 30 seconds, but it is good to get pushed to the limit. Next time, I'll try to save more energy for the climb. (Wait, I think I said that before. Eh, I know I can't ride 45 minutes fast, so I just push myself for 20 or so.) Can't wait for some info next week on what we will have to do.
All I know is we start with an FTP of course.
